we are bringing the body, mind, emotions
and spirit to optimum health through music,
movement and self-expression using Nia Dance
with Lyn Koutcher and Zumba® with Ra’Shawn
Jones-Brown.
The Zumba® program fuses hypnotic Latin
rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create
a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will
blow you away. Our goal is simple: we want
you to want to work out, to love working out
and to get hooked. Zumba® fanatics achieve
long-term benefits while experiencing an absolute
blast in one exciting hour of calorie-burning,
body-energizing, awe-inspiring movement meant
to engage and captivate for life! The routines
feature interval training sessions where fast
and slow rhythms and resistance training are
combined to tone and sculpt your body while
burning fat. Add some Latin flavor and international
zest into the mix and you've got a Zumba®
class! No class is ever the same. Ra’Shawn
is gifted in her fun method of instructing
and picking the right music for the party
atmosphere in the class.

Loss Weekend
In today’s world, losing weight and
maintaining a healthy weight can be a difficult
battle. At New Age Health Spa we believe the
best way to win the losing battle is to take
a whole body approach, incorporating the mind,
body and spirit.
We invite you to join Staff members from our
Fitness, Nutrition, and Spiritual Departments
for a fun-filled, active and educational weekend
designed to steer you down the path of long-lasting
health and wellness. The schedule will be
packed with an assortment of fat-burning cardio
and muscle-building strength training classes
to boost metabolism, Yoga and Pilates to connect
and ground your mind and body and meditation
and relaxation classes to lower stress levels.
There will also be nutrition lectures geared
towards making informed and healthy food choices,
a cooking class and an open Q & A with
our Nutrition Educator and Fitness Director
to address your questions and concerns regarding
healthy weight loss. Add to this mix your
choice of Spa treatments and a weekend full
of healthy meals and you will be well on your
way to looking and feeling your best.
Stepping out of your dietary and activity
patterns is a radical move. Making these changes
in a safe and fun way breaks the momentum
of habit and releases the mind from patterns

8-10: 'Masters of
Melody' - Classical Piano Concerts with
Alan Wasserman
Relax and get into
the Spa spirit as you enjoy an evening of
beautiful piano music by some of history’s
greatest composers and learn about the many
ways they created melodies. Explore the
music of Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart,
Joplin, Granados, Villodo and other composers
as Alan intermingles joyful commentary with
expert performances of classical compositions.
Allow time and reflection with his evening
program of music and meditation that explores
the effect that music has on the mind and
body. Music by classical composers along
with music of Jazz musicians like Strahorn
and Rollins will be discussed and performed.
We will also consider the use of music as
an aid for meditation. Alan Wasserman plays
piano music ranging from Classical to Jazz
to Meditational. Alan has studied with major
teachers in New York, New Jersey, London
and Moscow. He is a past President of the
Music Educators Association of New Jersey
and the director of a music studio. His
private students range from 5 year olds
through octogenarians. Alan is also a Chi
Kung and Tai Chi ‘player’, a
black belt in Tai Kwon Do and a student
of Yoga.

15-17: Therapeutic Lifestyle
Change (TLC) Weekend
Do you have painful, stiff joints? Are you
battling with Arthritis? Have you been inactive?
Are you overweight? Do you have limited mobility
due to joint problems or joint replacement?
If so, we have the weekend for you! We are
hosting a Special Weekend of safe, gentle
exercise programs. This weekend you will learn
how to help improve daily function and movement,
enhance balance and prevent falls, increase
strength and stamina, fight depression and
decrease arthritic pain and stiffness.
The schedule will include a comprehensive
group fitness program that includes careful
movements for all the joints and muscle groups.
Your instructors will use gentle yet effective
exercises that increase flexibility, range
of motion, strength, endurance and balance.
Alexander Technique: Discover
the unconscious habits that you have created
over your lifetime and how to free yourself
of them.You will no longer drag your body
around, instead you will walk through your
day more easily with a spring in your step
and a smile on your face. Alexander Technique
can help back/neck pain, muscular skeletal
issues, RSI (wrist pain) sciatica. Even more
valuable than that, it supports great posture
and easy movement.
Gentle Strength Training & Aerobic
exercises are done standing and/or seated
in a chair. You will be introduced to the
proper way to use Therabands for gentle resistance
and have fun creating the “feel good’
endorphines in your body. This is a safe and
effective cardiovascular workout for all.
Gentle Tai Chi, Qi Gong & Meditation:
This form of Chinese Healing Exercise doesn’t
require deep bending or squatting. This easy-to-learn
form can be done seated too. Tai Chi and Qi
Gong have been shown to improve mobility and
balance, lower blood pressure and calm and
focus the mind. You will also learn helpful
relaxation and breathing techniques to lower
levels of the hormone cortisol, which tells
the body to hold on to fat cells. New research
shows that Meditating helps reduce the perception
of pain, and that people have a higher pain
threshold after completing just one meditation
training.
Self Massage & Tips on Nutrition
will also be on the schedule to help you overcome
stiffness and inflammation. Know which foods
can decrease discomfort in your joints and
improve your health and happiness.
Therapeutic Water Exercises will
round out the weekend. You will be introduced
to gentle movements that increase flexibility
and strength, decrease pain and stiffness
and more. Doing exercises in the water puts
less strain on the joints and muscles. People
who are overweight, have arthritis and have
joint replacement issues especially appreciate
these aquatic exercises.

12-14: Ballroom &
Latin Dance Weekend with Catherine Politis
Do you want to improve your coordination,
strength, balance & rhythmical expression?
Join us for this fun weekend and exercise
and make new friends while learning Ballroom
and Latin dances with Catherine Politis. Ballroom
dance training offers the unique advantages
of a rhythmic exercise that produces graceful
muscular movement. A person who has Ballroom
dance training gains improved posture, coordination
and ease in relationships with companions.
We have an action-packed weekend planned for
you, filled with movement, passion, style
and grace! The classes are suitable for all
skill levels and you don't need a partner.
The weekend begins with a presentation and
demonstration on Friday night. This will include
open discussion and the history of all the
dances that will be taught as well as a demonstration.
Classes begin on Saturday morning where you
will learn the Waltz, the Rumba and the Tango.
In the afternoon we will continue with the
Tango and the Salsa. On Sunday we continue
with the Meringue and the Hustle and then
review the Waltz and Rumba. The classes are
geared for all skill levels and you don't
need a partner!
Catherine will also be available for private
dance lessons.
